About the event
Finding Dragons is all about identifying Odonates (dragonflies & damselflies) using eDNA & kick net sampling and sightings posted on iNaturalist and determine species richness, the effects of urbanization on aquatic biodiversity and engage youth in activities that inspire them to appreciate & conserve these important indicator species and their roles in ecosystems. This project went from Boise last year into a statewide project this year, not to mention our international collaborators from the arctic (Alaska) and the tropics (Nigeria & Columbia). This virtual presentation will include project leaders Ethan Tolman & Dick Jordan and scientists from the American Museum of Natural History who will be discussing their research with IdEEA and students in Idaho and beyond.
